WARSAW: Studio AGART is adapting to the COVID-19 crisis by offering remote shoots for ad campaigns.

GDYNIA: The Polish Film Institute has announced that due to the prevailing epidemiological situation in the country and government recommendations regarding the organisation of mass events, the 45th Polish Film Festival in Gdynia will not take place in 2020.

WARSAW: The Polish Filmmakers Association (SFP) has agreed to allocate 6.5m EUR / 30m PLN as part of an assistance package to support filmmakers during the COVID crisis. This is one of the largest amounts of support provided by creative organisations to its members during the COVID-19 pandemic.

WARSAW: Poland is loosening its COVID-19 social distancing laws, which will allow the restart of on set film production and outdoor cinemas. The new looser regulations will allow up to 50 people to meet in a gathering.

WARSAW: Włodzimierz Niderhaus, one of the most important and respected Polish film producers and the longtime director of the Documentary and Feature Film Studios (WFDiF) died at the age of 75 on 12 May 2020 in Warsaw.

WARSAW: Cinemas in Poland remain closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and it is not likely that they will open soon. Several Polish companies are opening drive-in cinemas both locally and on a national scale to meet the audience's demand.

WARSAW: Jacek Bromski has issued an open letter to the Polish Government, calling for a permanent change in the way streaming platforms and VOD service providers operate on the Polish market.

WARSAW: The Polish Producers Alliance (KIPA) and Netflix are creating a fund to assist the employees of the Polish film and television industry who are most affected by the suspension of work due to the COVID-19 epidemic. Netflix will donate 551,000 EUR / 2.5 m PLN towards the fund's launch.

GDYNIA: Tomasz Kolankiewicz has been selected to be the new artistic director of the Gdynia Polish Feature Film Festival.
