COTTBUS MASTERS highlights brand-new works by renowned filmmakers, including PETER BEBJÁK’s DUCHOŇ -– which is also the official opening film of the FFC-, STEPHAN KOMANDAREV’s MADE IN EU, and SERGEI LOZNITSA’s TWO PROSECUTORS and THE INVASION. The programme is completed by TUDOR GIURGIU’s documentary THE SPRUCE FOREST.
DON’T CALL ME VINTAGE! revisits female voices of the 1980s with four landmark films: A STOLEN MEETING (Leida Laius), DAY IS LONGER THAN THE NIGHT (Lana Gogoberidze), DIARY FOR MY CHILDREN (Márta Mészáros), and MY 20TH CENTURY (Ildikó Enyedi).
Complementing these sections, HITS features regional blockbusters such as the Slovak gangster sagas MIKI and ČERNÁK, the Finnish comedy 100 LITRES OF GOLD, and Hungary’s audience favourite GONE RUNNING.
The late-night section MIDNIGHT MADNESS continues to push genre boundaries with titles like DOG OF GOD (Latvia), THE DEATH OF DRACULA (Romania/Hungary/France), and SASYQ (Kazakhstan).
With these additions, the 35th FFC reaffirms its role as a key platform for both established masters and rediscoveries, bridging arthouse and popular cinema across the region.
The complete programme for the 35th FFC – featuring 138 films from 41 countries – will be published in mid-October. In addition to the three competitions, you can look forward to seven other sections, premieres, discussions, parties and concerts.
Accreditations are possible via the online form on the FFC website. We warmly invite you to register early and join us in Cottbus this November.
