Telefonica 02 Czech Republic plans dividend

    Telefonica O2 Czech Republic reported on Thursday consolidated revenues (business and recurring revenues) of 63 billion crowns (€2.5 billion) in 2007, a rise of 2.8% year-on-year, in the upper range of analysts' expectations. Fourth-quarter consolidated revenues rose 1.4% year-on-year.

    Net income stood at 10.4 billion crowns for 2007, a rise of 29.5% YOY, driven by improved performance in the fixed-line segment. Fourth-quarter net income stood at 2.8 billion crowns, a rise of 138%.

    CEO Salvador Anglada said the positive results permit the board of directors to propose a dividend payment of 50 crowns per share.

    Telefonica 02 Czech Republic said it will continue to focus in 2008 on new and enhanced products and services such as broadband, IPTV and data services.

    The company recently reported the number of 02 digital television customers has surpassed 80,000 and the number of 02 TV channels has grown to 63.
