By FNE Staff

Petr Koliha, artistic director of the Zlin International Film Festival for Children and Youth, received both the Meritorious Award and the Medal of Service to Zlin in recognition for "caring and lasting work both at home and abroad," said the Governor of the Zlin Region Libor Lukas.

Koliha is presiding over the 48th edition of the Zlin festival, the oldest children's film festival in the world and one of the largest. Guests already in attendance at the festival include Juno actor Daniel Clark and Dakota Blue Richards, star of The Golden Compass: His Dark Materials. The festival opened with a screening of Juno on June 1, and continues through June 8.
