FESTIVALS: Black Nights Expands Horizons Eastward

    {mosimage}TALLINN: The Estonian Foreign Ministry announced its support of a new programme at the Black Nights Film Festival (13-28 November 2012, www.poff.ee) of films about Estonia's East European development cooperation partner countries partnering with Estonia in development cooperation, including Georgia and nine other countries.

    The government is providing 15,000 EUR to support the project, which also includes partner countries the Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan.

    In a statement, Foreign Minister Urmas Paet said, "The film festival offers Estonian audiences a good opportunity to become better acquainted with the current issues and societal developments that affect the people and communities in these countries."
