Hungarian director Judit Elek will begin filming her Communist-era co-production Returning Home in Sweden in July.

The film, which received a 220,000 Euro grant from Eurimages, lined up a Swedish co-production partner during the Cannes film festival, according to Hungarian daily MTI.

The story of an ethnic Hungarian emigrant living in Sweden will also film in Romania through October, 2009. A release is planned for spring 2010.

Returning Home is co-produced by Hungary's Dánielfilm Studio (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) and Romania's Artis Film (www.artisfilm.ro).
