Digital TV on the Rise in Hungary

    BUDAPEST: Digital TV subscriptions were poised to top 1.3 million at the end of August, according to a report from Hungary's National Media and Telecommunications Authority.

    Both digital and satellite subscribers are increasing. Of the 3 million TV subscribers in Hungary, 51.1% are digital TV subscribers, while analog subscribers fell to 48.9%. UPC (www.upc.hu ) leads the market with a 30.2% share, followed by Magyar Telekom (www.telekom.hu ) with 25% and DIGI (www.digikabel.hu ) with 24.7%.
