Decline in ad revenues hits Lithuania

    The Radio and Television Commission of Lithuania (www.rtk.lt) reported that advertising revenues at commercial televisions in the first quarter of 2009 decreased by 14.7 million Litas ( €4.3 million) or 31% in comparison with the first quarter of 2008.
    The advertising revenues of all television channels, including public broadcaster Lithuanian National Radio and Television (LRT, www.lrt.lt ) and First Baltic Chanel (PBK, www.1tv.lv) decreased by 17.5 million Litas or 32.6 %.

    "According to the estimates of specialists and television channels themselves, a further decrease in advertising revenues will follow," said LRTK management director Nerijus Maliukevicius.
