The festival, which focuses on indie U.S. films, has announced its first titles. They include actor Philip Seymour Hoffman's directing debut Jack Goes Boating, with Hoffman also starring;Alma Har'el's experimental documentary Bombay Beach; Alison Bagnall's bitter comedy The Dish & the Spoon; andJeff Malmberg's documentary debut film Marwencol.

The entire programme will be announced on 28 October.

The American Film Festival (www.americanfilmfestival.pl) is organized by the New Horizons organization, under artistic director Roman Gutek.
