REGIOfun Call for Applications

KATOWICE, POLAND: The third REGIOfun (www.regiofun.pl) festival of regionally funded films has announced its call for applications, with a deadline of 15 August 2012.

The festival runs 24-28 October 2012. It awards 25,000 euros in prizes in three categories.

Poland has been a leader in regional funding, with 11 regional film funds now in place. The Silesia Film Fund (www.silesiafilm.com.pl), based in Katowice, was the first regional fund in Poland, launched in 2008, and remains the most important of the regional funds. In 2011, it gave 1.5 million PLN in grants to seven films.

The Film New Europe (FNE) Association is the networking platform for film professionals in the CEE/SEE/Baltics region.
