FESTIVALS: Sundance Awards Polish Documentary

    Out of Reach (Poza zasięgiem), a short documentary by Polish director Jakub Stozek, received an Honourable Mention at the prestigious American Sundance Film Festival, competing against 81 short films.

    The film was produced by Darklight Film Studio (www.darklight.pl) with funding from the Polish Film Institute (www.pisf.pl). It previously won the short film competition at the 50th Krakow Film Festival (www.krakowfilmfestival.pl).

    The film tells the story of two teenage girls trying to get in touch with their long-absent mother.

    The Polish Film Institute also celebrated the world premiere of Lech Majewski's film The Mill and the Cross at Sundance. The Polish-Swedish coproduction was co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
