Cyfrowy Polsat Completes Acquisition of Polsat TV

By Katarzyna Grynienko

WARSAW: Cyfrowy Polsat Group has completed its purchase of Polsat Televison (www.polsat.pl), acting upon a 15 November 2010 letter of intent, buying 2,369,467 shares for 3.75 million PLN (EUR 951,237). Cyfrowy Polsat now owns 100% of the company shares.

"A part of the share's cost, 2.6 million PLN, will be paid within 48 days from the date of the sale but not before all the Polsat Television shares are handed ower by their previous owners. The rest of the price, 1.15 million PLN, will be paid as the subsciption warrants emmission," Cyfrowy Polsat told FNE.

Cyfrowy Polsat ( www.cyfrowypolsat.pl) currently has 3.5 million subcribers for its pay TV service. Polsat TV is one of the most popular Polish private broadcasters, competing for the number one spot with TVN (www.tvn.pl). The transaction was made to diversify the income of Cyfrowy Polsat on the Polish market and stengthen its predominance over other cable television providers and private broadcasters.
