Vezér elected EFP president

    Éva Vezér has been elected president of European Film Promotion, replacing Claudia Landsberger who stepped aside but stays on as vice president.

    Vezér, General Manager at Magyar Filmunió, Hungary (www.filmunio.hu), was elected at the EFP General Assembly meeting in Cannes on May 19,.

    In a statement Vezér said, "To be the President of such a strong and stable international platform is a huge task and responsibility." Since its founding in 1997, EFP (www.efp-online.com) has grown from a 10-member organization to 29 member export and promotion agencies representing 30 European countries. Landsberger, Managing Director of Holland Film, presided over the EFP board for 12 years, working closely with EFP Managing Director Renate Rose.

    Joining Vezér on the board of EFP are: Christian Dorsch (German Films, Managing Director), Pilar Torre (ICAA, Spain, Deputy Director General for Film Promotion), Simon Perry (CEO, Irish Film Board), Christian Juhl Lemche (Danish Film Institute, Festival Manager Feature Films, and Jaana Puskala (Finnish Film Foundation, Head of International Promotion).
