Magyar Broadcasting Co KFT is run by Hungary’s Super Station KFT (Ungaria) which is managed by Av Investments Befektetesi KFT (Ungaria), whose shareholders are Andrew Vajna and Cinergi Pictures Entertainment Inc., Vajna’s failed US independent film production company. At the beginning of 2016 Magyar Broadcasting Co KFT completed the acquisition of the Hungarian leading commercial broadcaster TVR 2 group. Vajna, who made the list of the richest men in Hungary, has close ties to Prime Minister Viktor Orban. He was one of just two people who received a license for casinos and online gambling in Hungary.

According to Mediafax, the eight channels receiving licenses on 5 July 2016 are: Chilli TV, Izaura TV, Joy TV, Kiwi TV, Mozi+, Prime, Super TV 2 and Zenebutik. They will not air original programmes. The total investment is 7.1 m EUR per year.

The channels are expected to air in the EU, Serbia and Ukraine, but Laszlo Daroczi, the manager of CEE Broadcasting Co SRL, told Mediafax that initially two or three channels will start airing in Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Serbia and Ukraine in July 2016, and the rest of them by the end of the year.
