EAST DOC PLATFORM 2015 – STEP INTO IT!

    At the beginning of March,
    the documentary spring will burst out in Prague at East Doc Platform. Once again, 400 guests will attend the event, including almost 90 renowned international professionals and decision makers, who will choose from some of the most promising documentary films and quality projects carefully selected from the record number of applicants.

    Ten projects that have succeeded in the tough competition will be presented at this year’s East European Forum, together with the twelve projects that are taking part in the current edition of Ex Oriente Film workshop. Eighteen projects in various stages of production will be presented within the pre-arranged one-to-one meetings with important decision makers from all over the world at the popularProject Market - you can find the complete list of the decision makers and other guestshere.

    There will also be a chance to meet the renowned international experts on transmedia, social media and campaigns (Nuno Bertrando, Domenico La Porta,Kilian Krug,Dionne Walker,William Uricchio,Liz Rosenthal,Mathias Noschis,Ben Kempas,Adam Sigeland Sara Bozanić) as the tutors and lecturers of the Doc Tanklaboratory, giving advice not only to the representatives of the seven selected projects with transmedia or campaign potential, but also within their open lectures and master classes.

    The symbol of the 2015 East Doc Platform is a shoe as the loyal keeper and narrator of our personal stories and the motto is “Step into it!” Let us therefore invite you to make the first step towards the success of your project, fill in the shoes of some of the best documentary filmmakers, and join us!

    Apart from the traditional lectures, screenings, case studies and masterclasses, the documentary filmmakers can look forward to brand new forms of support. One of the pleasant novelties is the East Doc Platform Award associated with the financial support of 7.500 € that will be granted by Institute of Documentary Film to the best project in development. Czech TV, the General Media Partner of IDF will announce the winner of the Czech TV Postproduction Award and HBO Europe will hand in its Co-Production Award to one of the participating projects.

    Yet Institute of Documentary Film has good news not only for the filmmakers, but also for the documentary audience, especially from the Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary, Romania and Slovenia. All these countries will be participating in the new project,
    KineDok, focusing on connecting documentary fans with the filmmakers via a series of screenings of thought-provoking documentaries at alternative venues. Do not miss the official launch and introductory film, Sugar Blues, taking place on Friday, March 6, 8:30 pm at La Fabrika.

    One World 2015: Burst Through Your Bubble!

    114 documentary films will be presented at One World International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival that will be held on March 211, 2015 in Prague and subsequently in 33 other Czech cities. The festival will offer four premiers of Czech films: Suppressed Letters, Always Together, Jenica&Perla and Sugar Blues. Next to Q&A’s and panel debates, a special format of extended Q&As will be launched where filmmakers will present their filmmaking method.
    One World 2015 will try to burst prejudices and hearsay that we all tend to build around us in order to hide in a protective bubble behind our mental barriers.

    Cross-cinema Neustadt will become a new festival venue and will present web projects, live presentations linked to selected festival films, lectures and panel debates exploring advantages of modern technology in documentary filmmaking.
