Juho Kuosmanen´s Citizens won Prix Arte at Premiers Plans

    Juho Kuosmanen´s short film Citizens (Kaupunkilaisia, 2008) has won the Prix Arte at Premiers Plans film festival in Angers, France. Citizens has earlier won the Second prize Leopards of Tomorrow at Locarno Film Festival. Kuosmanen´s previous short film Roadmarkers (Kestomerkitsijät, 2007) won the third prize at the Cinéfondation in Cannes.

    Citizens tells the story of Yasin and Marko, who are citizens of Helsinki. Plan A for both of them is to earn a living and live a decent life. Now, Marko needs to buy a car and Yasin wants to sell one. This simple act of selling a car turns into something unpleasant - and both men are forced to go on living according to Plan B.

    Citizens main crew includes script writer Khadar Ahmed, cinematographer JP Passi and producer Auli Mantila. It is a Aamu Filmcompany production.
