Wednesday 16 September 2009, ITV Studios, Global Entertainment has licensed its hit entertainment format Pasapalabra to Turkey's Star TV, following on from the formats unrivalled success in Spain on Telecinco and September premiere on France 2.

Turkish broadcaster Star TV will air 40 x 60 minutes of the show in primetime, produced by Medyapim in Turkey. The deal was brokered by Jennifer Ebell, Sales Executive Central & Eastern Europe & The Baltics at ITV Global Entertainment.

The announcement follows the recent ground-breaking commission for ITV Studios to co-produce 300 new episodes of Pasapalabra for Telecinco, which is one of Spain's biggest broadcasters. Pasapalabra is consistently Spain's #1 rating show in the 8pm hour.

Earlier in September, leading commercial broadcaster France 2 premiered its 40 x 40 minute commission of the game-show, called En Toutes Lettres. Stripped every weekday at 6pm on France 2, Em Toutes Lettres is co-produced by Air Productions, part of Banijay Group, La Concepteria and ITV Studios. David Wilcox, Sales Executive France at ITV Global Entertainment secured the licence deal.

Tobi de Graaff, Director Global TV Distribution at ITV Global Entertainment said "Pasapalabra is an exceptional format which has strong appeal to our international clients. Its achievements in Spain and France look set to be replicated in Turkey this autumn with further broadcasters lining up to become part of its growing international success."

Pasapalabra challenges celebrities and members of the public to compete in fun-filled games testing their powers of creativity, ingenuity and imagination as they make their way through the alphabet with hilarious results.

Remy Blumenfeld, Director Formats at ITV Studios said "Star TV's commission continues our strategy of developing new global production partnerships by supporting our formats with ITV's renowned expertise and knowledge. Pasapalabra is an excellent example of this success."

In addition to Pasapalabra, ITV will launch a wide range of exciting new entertainment formats at MIPCOM next month including the UK hit format's "Four Weddings", "The Chase" and Australia's "Talkin' Bout Your Generation".
