Pavel Berčík to Participate in This Year’s Producers on the Move

    Prague, April 28, 2010 - Pavel Berčík of Evolution Films, which produces features, documentaries and animated movies, has been selected to participate in Producers on the Move at this year's Cannes International Film Festival. Berčík follows in the footsteps of seven other Czech producers selected for the annual program before him.

    European Film Promotion (EFP) has announced the names of 23 European producers who will participate in the Producers on the Move program at the 2010 Festival du Cannes from May 15-18, 2010. Participants will have ample opportunities to meet industry professionals and present their latest projects at roundtable meetings. The presentations will be moderated by Marit van den Elshout (CineMart Rotterdam), followed by a lunch for the POMs and 150 selected European producers attending this year's Cannes IFF.

    European Film Promotion (EFP), which organizes Producers on the Move as well as another prestigious annual event, Shooting Stars, is funded by the MEDIA Programme. CFC has been a member of EFP since 2002, and thereby provides Czech film and industry professionals opportunities to participate in similar promotional events around the world.

    Pavel Berčík - Profile

    Pavel was born on April 21, 1983. He is a graduate of the Department of Production of the Film and Television School of the Academy of Performing Arts. In 2008, he joined the European film producers' association (ACE) and the European Producers Network. He has produced numerous commercials, shorts and documentary films.

    His upcoming projects include the animated fantasy Tales from the Gingerland (dir. Tomáš Hubáček) and the Polish-Czech-German drama Yuma (dir. Piotr Mularuk).
