Now is the time to submit your TV series project for MIDPOINT TV Launch 2018. The deadline is tomorrow Friday September 15th at midnight. MIDPOINT TV Launch is an "idea-to-market" project development program, focused on scripted formats of miniseries or ongoing, episodic TV series that can sustain multiple seasons. Both half-hour and one-hour series proposals are accepted, and emphasis is on content-rich, compelling stories and innovative series concepts – both high-end and low budget. Who can applyTeams of writers/producers and secondarily directors primarily from Central-Eastern Europe, the Balkans, the Baltic countries and the wider Mediterranean area. Participants can have a background in filmmaking or in TV writing, with the wish to shift to quality television production. Poland 15-09-2017WARSAW: Netflix commissioned the first locally produced series in Poland, directed by Agnieszka Holland and Kasia Adamik. The title of the series has not been revealed yet. The international premiere is planned for 2018.
LOS ANGELES: Short film Who's Who in Mycology by Czech director Marie Dvořáková has been awarded at the 2017 Student Academy Awards in the narrative film category (domestic film schools). Marie Dvořáková is the second Czech winner of the prize after Jan Svěrák, who later became an acclaimed filmmaker.

SOFIA: Petar Valchanov’s and Kristina Grozeva’s second feature film Glory, a socially engaged ironic film on contemporary life in Bulgaria, has been chosen as the country’s official candidate for the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences nomination in the Best Foreign Language Film category.
PRAGUE: Bohdan Sláma's The Ice Mother / Bába z Ledu was selected as Czech Republic’s official entry for an Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences nomination in the Best Foreign Language Film category. This Czech/Slovak/French coproduction was recommended by the Czech Film and Television Academy (CFTA).
GDYNIA: Paweł Maślona’s debut feature mixing six stories about ordinary people in extreme situations will premiere at the 42nd Gdynia Film Festival (18-23 September 2017).
