GDYNIA: Paweł Maślona’s debut feature mixing six stories about ordinary people in extreme situations will premiere at the 42nd Gdynia Film Festival (18-23 September 2017).
The film follows six people and situations in which they experience severe stress. A freaky radio speaker, a waiter with ambitions of conquering the world, a perfect bride in distress, a successful writer of criminal novels, a husband and a wife on the journey of their lives, and a specialist in animal behaviorism – they all get a panic attack. All the protagonists reach a situation that has only one solution. "Panic Attack tells a story of several seemingly unrelated people, who become suddenly connected by a fast approaching catastrophe, making them face their worst fears. During a panic attack, the awareness of a lurking end becomes unbearable and fear prevents any rational behavior. I have experienced a few panic attacks, moments in which I was sure my life was over. Those moments were absolutely terrifying, but now they seem ridiculously funny and I believe that my characters share the same experience of something equally terrible and funny at the same time", director Paweł Maślona said. He penned the script together with Aleksandra Pisula and Bartłomiej Kotschedoff.
