ZAGREB: Dalibor Matanić's The Dawn / Zora will premiere on 7 October 2021 on HBO GO, and will be shown on HBO on the same day at 8 p.m. The second part of the director's Trilogy of the Sun is produced by Croatia’s Kinorama in coproduction with Italy’s Ascent Film.

BUCHAREST: Pustnik, the first international screenwriters’ residency taking place in Romania, started a new cycle: a series of three development residencies dedicated for both new participants and alumni, working on their first or second feature films.

In its seventh year, after an online edition, Pustnik Screenwriters’ Residency – part of the Pustnik screenwriting network – returned to the banks of the Danube for its 2021 programme at Port Cultural Cetate, in Romania, September 13–20.

WARSAW: Kids Kino Industry, the pitching and coproduction forum for feature films and series (live-action, animation and documentaries) for young audiences, has announced its winners. The forum started on 28 September and will wrap on 1 October 2021.

PLZEN: Bad Luck Banging or Loony Porn by Romanian director Radu Jude has been awarded the Golden Kingfisher Award in the Feature and Animated Films Competition of the 34th edition of Finale Plzen (24-29 September 2021).

BERLIN: The Story of My Wife by Ildikó Enyedi is among the four titles added to the list of films eligible for European Film Awards nominations, while Polanski, Horowitz. Hometown by Mateusz Kudła and Anna Kokoszka-Romer, has been added, together with three other titles, to the list of eligible documentaries.

PRAGUE: The Czech crime series Rats / Zradci (2020) has been sold to the Baltic broadcasting group TV3 Group and Slovenian multimedia company PRO PLUS. PRO PLUS has also acquired rights to the Serbian spy thriller Civil Servant.

The Malta Film Commission announces the first edition of the Malta Film Awards. We will celebrate the success story of our local cast and crew of the film and television industry throughout the years. Malta is a story of success led by the ambition and creativity of its people.

The Malta Film Awards will be a celebration of Malta, of those working in the film and television industry throughout its history of film making.
