PRAGUE: The Institute of Documentary Film will focus on the rise of populist regimes in CEE territories for the 2018 East Doc Platform, 3-9 March 2018. The largest industry event dedicated to documentary filmmaking in the region will take place during the One World International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival in Prague.

The largest industry event dedicated to documentary filmmaking in Central and Eastern Europe reflects on the rise of populist regimes in the region and examines the options available for fighting efforts to suppress critical voices.

PRAGUE: The international human rights doc fest One World, running 5 – 14 March 2018 in Prague, will screen 12 films in its main competition programme.

BERLIN: The Eurimages Co-Production Development Award, endowed with 20,000 euros, was presented to the project The War Has Ended directed by Hagar Ben Asher, represented by the producers from Madants of Poland, Match Factory Productions (Germany) and Transfax Film Productions (Israel). The prize money is intended as a project development grant from the European film subsidy organisation Eurimages.

On 7 December 2016, the European Commission decided to refer Bulgaria, Luxembourg, Romania and Spain to the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) for their alleged failure to notify the complete transposition of the Collective Rights Management Directive (Directive 2014/26/EU) into their national laws.
