The European Film Agency Directors (EFADs) have published a declaration outlining their concerns about the actions being taken at the European Union level which will undermine cultural diversity, contractual freedom, and territorial exclusivity. The declaration was adopted at our plenary meeting at the 70th edition of the Cannes Film Festival on Sunday 21st May 2017 and has been published online.

CANNES: Slovenian producer Danijel Hocevar has been appointed the new Head of Studies at MIDPOINT Feature Launch. The appointment was announced by Prague-based MIDPOINT in Cannes.

PRAGUE: The Shanghai Media Group and Medea Group from the Czech Republic have signed an agreement to cooperate on film and TV production.

CANNES: The Cannes edition of the European Film Forum kicks off at 14:30 on Monday 22 May in Cannes at the Salan Des Ambassadeurs in the Festival Palais.

CANNES: Bulgarian director Stefan Komandarev’s Directions / Posoki has been sold to French distributor Rezo Films for France. The film will unspool in the Certain Regard section of Cannes on 26 May.

FNE has teamed up with FIPRESCI critics attending the Cannes Film Festival to rate the films in the Main Competition, Un Certain Regard, Directors' Fortnight and Critics Week, giving the films 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 stars. 5 is the best and 1 is the worst. The ratings give an overview of critics opinions from a large number of countries and provide insights to what critics in many different countries think about the programme.
