The festival "A l’Est, du Nouveau" is back from April 11th to April 18th 2014 for its ninth edition at the Ariel cinema in Mont-Saint-Aignan and the Omnia cinema in Rouen, Normandy. It will present more than thirty films and host filmmakers from Armenia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Kosovo, Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, and Serbia.

RIGA: The Latvian-Finnish coproduction of Viesturs Kairiss’s historical drama Chronicles of Melanie (Melanijas hronika) resumes shooting in April with another filming segment scheduled for August 2014.

PLZEN: Fourteen Czech and Slovak films will compete for the main Golden Kingfisher at the Plzen Finale Festival, running 27 April – 3 May 2014.

21th edition of IFF Prague – Febiofest will take place from March 20th to 28th in Cinestar Andel, Prague. The festival will screen 141 films from 60 countries divided into 18 program sections. The viewers can look forward to 542 screenings altogether (436 in Prague).
