The new session session of Ex Oriente Workshop was launched in Warsaw, on the 28th of June. It is the first time the event has taken place in Poland. Its main theme concerns planning and organisation of film production. During the whole week Warsaw is hosting experts of European film dokumentary coming from Holland (Marijke Rawie), Danmark (Mikael Opstrup, Jasper Osmund, Charlotte Gry Madsen), Germany (Helge Albers, Stefan Rűll, Georg Tschurtschenthaler) and The Czech Republic (Filip Remunda). Screenings and discussions with the artists, taking place in cinema Rejs, are available for audience.

Berlin-based world sales company m-appeal's award-winning documentary film A STAR IS BORN by Serbian director Vanja Kovačević will be screened as part of the Documentary Film competition

BUDAPEST: Hungarian director Robert Pejo is in pre-production on his new film, Paw, a story based on the real life of the famous Hungarian rescue dog and his trainer Laszlo Lehoczki. Produced by Laszlo Kantor's Uj Budapest Filmstudio the film is set to shoot in autumn. Pejo's wife Magda Dajni has written the script.

We are proud to unveil the programme for this year's presentation of East European documentary works-in-progress. Nine remarkable projects that will be released from July 2010 - 2011 will be presented by, among others, Vít Klusák, Erika Hníková, Martin Ryšavý, Pavel Kostomarov, Marianna Kaat, Gyula Nemes, Salome Jashi, Marek Šulík and Andris Gauja. Docu Talents from the East takes place July 6, 2010 at 10:30am at Hotel Thermal, Karlovy Vary.

Animation producers from across Europe will present their latest projects at the next edition of Cartoon Forum, the platform to boost the co-production and distribution of European animation for television that will celebrate its 21st edition from 14 to 17 September in Sopron, Hungary. This will be the first time that the event is held in a new EU country since its creation in 1990.
