Czech Box Office Hit Life is Life Rebounds in Cinemas

PRAGUE: Czech director Milan Cieslar’s hit comedy Life is Life showed a 21 percent uptick in Czech cinemas in its thirteenth week in release. The film topped the Czech box office for several weeks after its release earlier this year.

The film produced by Flamesite and coproduced by Cieslar’s company Happy Celluloid, has racked up a total of 233,700 admissions and 30.5m CZK in box office since its release on 21 May. The film is distributed in nine cinemas by Bontonfilm.

Written by Martin Horský, the film is a loose sequel to Cieslar’s successful comedy Love is Love (2012), deals with a Czech family in a small town and its usual troubles. Cielsar is one of the Czech Republic’s most successful directors with a string of box office hits and TV productions to his credit.
