Hungary Launches Film and TV Awards in 2013

    BUDAPEST: The HUFTA’s, Hungary’s first official film and TV awards event, is planned for 1 June 2013 in Budapest.

    The Hungarian Film and TV Awards (HUFTA), Hungary’s own version of the Oscars, is being organized by a non-profit organization founded by actor/director Hakan Yildiz along with a group of rising independent filmmakers.

    The event will feature awards for the best Hungarian films and television productions in the following categories: Best Picture, Best Drama, Best Television Series, Best Director (Film), Best International Film, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best International Short, Best Comedy, Best Web Weries, Best Action, Best Documentary, Best Student Film, Best Music, Best Hungarian Film, and Special Awards. The awards will be voted on by celebrity guests, producers, and directors prior to the ceremony.
