Hungary Raises Tax Incentives from 25% to 30%

By

BUDAPEST: Hungary will raise its production incentives from 25% to 30%. The submission of the Hungarian Film Fund approved by the European Commission aims at preserving its competitiveness in Europe.

Hungary was the first Eeastern European country that launched a tax incentives scheme in 2004 and became a leading Continental Europe destination for international productions.

But its position might be challenged as recently Romania launched its cash rebate system with 35% (plus 10% for explicitly promoting Romania), while Poland is expected to announce its incentive scheme soon.
