RIGA: The day of the restoration of Latvia’s independence, 4 May, is celebrated again in 2023 by the National Film Centre of Latvia with a film marathon held both online and on-site.
The film screenings will take place at the cinema Splendid Palace in Riga, as well as in other neighborhoods of Rīga. The screenings are free of charge.
The online film marathon will be available worldwide on filmas.lv and will include a programme dedicated to the legendary Latvian writer Imants Ziedonis (1933–2013).
The Film New Europe (FNE) Association is the networking platform for film professionals in the CEE/SEE/Baltics region. The webportal and FNE newswire was chosen as the MAIN TOOL to achieve the network’s objectives of the sharing of know how, visibility of regional cultural diversity and finally the VOICE of the region.
