Broadband penetration increased to 24.6% of the population, while mobile telephony subscriptions climbed to 94%.
The Malta Independent reported that Philip Micallef, executive chairman of the MCA, stated that all sectors of telecommunications showed continued growth in subscriptions and usage. Employment showed a 117% increase, to over 2.600 jobs in the sector, which accounts for 3% of Malta's GDP.
