Aftermath is a story of two brothers who discover that their home village was a place of a Jewish pogrom during WWII. Not only do the two men have to face the dark secret of their community's past, but also must decide if keeping the family and national pride is worth sacrificing the truth about a terrible tragedy. The leading role are played by Maciej Stuhr and Ireneusz Czop

The film was entered to the competition at the last minute because Pasikowski was not sure if he would be able to finish it in time for the festival. Aftermath arrived in Gdynia on 10 May 2012 straight from Amsterdam where the final post-production touches were completed.

Aftermath is a Polish/ Dutch/Russian/Slovak film produced by Apple Film Production (www.applefilm.pl) in coproduction with Topkapi Films (www.topkapifilms.nl), Metra Films (www.metrafilms.ru), Attack Film, Trigon Production (www.trigon-production.sk), Telewizja Polska (www.tp.pl) and Canal+ (www.canaplyscyfrowy.pl). The film received financing from the Polish Film Institute (www.pisf.pl), The Netherlands Film Fund, Slovak Audiovisual Fund and was supported by Eurimages.Aftermath was shot in June and August of 2011, after almost seven years of struggling to get this story on to the screen. Pasikowski's previous credits include the Polish mega-box office hits of the 1990's Pigs and Pigs 2.

The film was very well received after the first screenings in Gdynia, winning the Journalist's Choice Award ex e quo with Leszek David's You Are God (www.sfkadr.com).
