Joj TV Fined for Foreign Language Violation

    BRATISLAVA: Slovak commercial station Joj TV has been fined 200 EUR for breaching the Slovak law limiting foreign language broadcasting on a Slovak station.

    According to local media reports, the channel exceeded the limits of foreign language programming with the broadcast of an English language programme that was dubbed into Czech. The channel received a fine since it had previously defied the law.

    The fine was the second one issued under the 2008 law. The previous fine was issued to a regional channel for broadcasting advertisements in the Hungarian language.

    Joj TV is owned by J&T Media Enterprises, a subsidiary of J&T Finance Group which has offices in Bratislava, Prague, Moscow, Cyrpus and Barbados.
