PRODUCTION: Southern Scum Go Home! in Preproduction

    LJUBLJANA: Writer/Director/screenwriter Goran Vojnovic is preparing an adaptation of his 2008 Slovenian bestselling novel in advance of a 1 July 2012 shoot date.

    He adapted Southern scum go home!/ Čefurji raus! with the help of Abdulah Sidran (Do you remember Dolly Bell, When Father Was Away on Business). The adventures of 17 year old Marko Đorđić and his friends will finally return to its starting point, since Southern scum go home! /Čefurji raus! was initially a screenplay which was then shaped into a novel and then transformed into a successful play.

    The film is produced by Franci Zajc and Boštjan Ikovic of the Slovenian company Arsmedia (www.arsmedia.si), in co-production with the Slovenian Public Television (www.rtvslo.si). The Slovenian Film Centre (www.film-center.si) is supporting the project. The budget is 730,000 Euro, Ikovic told FNE.

    Radovan Čok is the DOP. The cast has not been announced. Shooting will wrap on 20.The premiere is set for October 2014.
