    ADANA: Present Tense competes in the Golden Boll after its premiered at the 2012 Istanbul Film Festival where it won the ‘Best female performance in a leading role’ award.

    Present Tense is the feature film debut from Belmin Soylemez, who is best known for her short films and documentaries. Production on the film took place in 2011.

    The film is the story of a fortune teller called Mina who wants to escape from Istanbul and go to New York. Gradually, one step at a time, her loneliness and alienation are overcome and she is fulfilled by a life of joy.

    The film is supported by Turkish Culture Ministry (www.sinema.gov.tr) and produced by Film Bufe (www.filmbufe.com)
