    Only three weeks left until the May 31st Deadline and one step away from €2500 for the best film / best team for this year’s Aristoteles Workshop.

    16 Eastern European participants will be guided by famous directors and film industry experts towards creating their own 30 minute documentary, from pitch to final edit, during a five week training course. You could be one of them!

    Documentaries produced at Aristoteles Workshop have won awards at major festivals such as CANNES, DOK Leipzig and NYON, among others.

    THE BENEFITS

    The Aristoteles Workshop is a documentary training program where:

    · you spend five weeks in a beautiful mountain resort with filmmakers from all over Europe

    · you join a team of 3 other participants, as either a director, DP, editor or producer

    · film industry professionals guide your team every step of the way towards creating your own 30 minute documentary, from pitch to final edit

    · you have access to every necessary production and post production equipment

    · your resulting film is distributed to film festivals and television networks across the globe.


    THE TRAINERS

    Professional training is provided by preeminent leaders in the field: Rafi Pitts, Nino Kirtadze, Thierry Garrel, Jennifer Fox, John Appel, Simon Brook, Alex Szalat, Marijke Rawie, Michal Bregant, Niels Pagh Anderson, Martichka Bozhilova and the ones who really put us on the map: Jean Rozat, General Director ARTE/France and André de Margerie, Director of International Affairs ARTE/France.


    THE PROGRAM

    Stage 1 - Training
    Narrative style & strategies. Director’s perspective of development.
    Camera, light, sound. Visual approach, planning & production schedule.

    Stage 2 - Production
    Treatment, research & scouting, shooting.

    Stage 3 - Editing
    Shaping the documentary in the cutting room. Creative content and visual treatment.
    Coaching activity during and after the completion of the rough cut.

    Stage 4 - Finish Line
    Output to tape. Final evaluation.

    THE PARTNERS

    ARISTOTELES WORKSHOP (AW) is a HDTV training and development center dedicated to foster a new generation of creative documentary filmmakers in Central and Eastern Europe.

    AW is supported by ARTE/France, MEDIA Programme of the European Union, Romanian Cultural Institute and Romanian National Center of Cinematography.

    CONDITIONS

    · Previous experience with one of the following: directing, cinematography, editing, producting.
    · Fluency in English
