PRAGUE: Debuting director Michal Samir finished a marathon three-day filming schedule on Hany, a drama shot on location in the famed Czech brewery city of Plzen, on 21 September 2013.
PRODUCTION: Polish Artist Libera to Make Film Debut
WARSAW: Internationally acclaimed Polish artist Zbigniew Libera is in production with his directing debut, an experimental science-fiction feature titled Walser starring Krzysztof Stroiński (Fear of Falling) and Adam Sikora (Essential Killing, The Mill and the Cross) as the film’s cinematographer. Libera co-wrote the script with Grzegorz Jankowicz.

NEW PHILADELPHIA: Filmmakers for Czech TV recounting the life of Moravian missionary David Zeisberger for Vistafilm are exploring Tuscarawas County, Pennsylvania currently, shooting in places connected with his life, including many Moravian churches still holding services today.

PRAGUE: Petr Vachler, founder of the Czech Lions awards, has begun shooting his second film – feature length documentary The Meaning and Mystery of Life (Tajemství a smysl života), in which he combines elements of animation, drama, documentary, fantasy and mystery.

WARSAW: Diplodocus, an animated film based on a legendary Polish comic, has won an 80,000 EUR development grant from Media.
PRODUCTION: Director of Manhunt Shooting New Tragicomedy
CRACOW: Marcin Krzyształowicz has launched the shoot for his new project, Kindergarten Lady (Pani z przedszkola), described as a Woody Allen-inspired tragicomedy about love and psychoanalysis with an intellectual tone. Lensing began 27 September.
PRODUCTION: Cherry Tobacco Shooting in Estonia
TALLINN: Katrin Maimik’s coming-of-age debut film Cherry Tobacco (Kirsitubakas), written by Andres Maimik, is shooting in Estonian locations through October. It builds on the latter's previous hit comedy Kormoranid. Tobacco is produced by Kuukulgur Film, which previously released Daisy Petal Game II (Karikakramäng II), a shorts omnibus including films by the duo.
