PRODUCTION: Bartosz Prokopowicz Shooting Chemo

    WARSAW: Accomplished Polish DoP Bartosz Prokopowicz is making his feature directing debut with Chemo, a drama inspired by his wife's battle with cancer.

    The shoot for Chemo began on location in Warsaw on 8 August 2014 and will last till the end of the month. The drama is inspired by the life of Magda Prokopowicz, the creator of the Rak'n'Roll foundation for battling cancer who died in 2012 after a long struggle with her illness. The film is produced by Filmokracja with a budget of 5.8 m PLN. The movie received 2 m PLN of production support from the Polish Film Institute.

    Bartosz Prokopowicz is an accomplished Polish DoP most recognized for his work on Krzysztof Krauze's The Debt (Zebra Film) and Felik's Falk's The Debt Collector (TVP). The director chose an all-star cast with Agnieszka Żulewska (Baby Blues) and Tomasz Schuchardt (You Are God) in the leads, along with Danuta Stenka, Anna Cieślak, Eryk Lubos, Mirosław Baka and Tomasz Sapryk.

    Chemo is the second picture devoted to the life of Magda Prokopowicz. In 2009 Alina Mrowińska directed a documentary about her life and illness entitled Magda, Love and Cancer produced by TVP.

    The premiere of Chemo is planned for 2015 and the distributor is Vue Movie Distribution.
