WARSAW: Olga Chajdas and Agnieszka Smoczyńska are joining Agnieszka Holland and Kasia Adamik for the shooting of 1983, the first Polish Netflix series. The 8-episode series, which is currently shooting in Poland, is set in a world where the Iron Curtain never fell.

VILNIUS: Lithuanian writer/director Marat Sargsyan is currently shooting his debut feature The Flood Won‘t Come / Tvano nebus. The project is supported by the Lithuanian Film Centre.

WARSAW: Sam Akina’s Planet Single 2, a sequel to the 2016 Polish box office hit starring Maciej Stuhr, is currently shooting in Warsaw. Kino Świat will release the film domestically on 9 November 2018.

BELGRADE: Serbian writer/director Miloš Puić is currently in production with long documentary Pixie, focusing on one of the biggest living footaball legends in Serbia, Dragan Stojković Piksi. The film is supported by Film Center Serbia.

PRAGUE: Director/producer/screenwriter Petr Jákl signed with the Hollywood producer Cassian Elwes for his epic biopic Jan Žižka, about Bohemia’s greatest warrior Jan Žižka of Trocnov. Jan Žižka is expected to be the biggest budget Czech film ever and to star a famous foreign actor.

VILNIUS: One of the most famous Lithuanian film directors Algimantas Puipa is currently shooting his new drama, Bumblebee Honey / Kamanių medus.

PRAGUE: Julius Ševčík’s Czech/Slovak high budget period drama coproduction The Glass Room started shooting in the famous Tugendhat villa in Brno. This English-language film will be shot in several European countries with international stars such as Dutch Carice van Houten (Game of Thrones) and Danish Claes Bang (The Square). The cast includes Czech actors Karel Roden and Karel Dobrý.

RIGA: Juris Kursietis is currently shooting his sophomore feature Oleg, a drama about a butcher who leaves for Brussels to work in a local meat factory, but gets under the control of a Polish criminal. The film is a Latvian/Lithuanian/Belgian coproduction with an international cast.

PRAGUE: The World War I Danish/German/Czech drama In War and Love directed by Kaspar Torsting completed a week of shooting in the Czech Republic through Czech company Film United.

SKOPJE: Martin Ivanov and Ivica Dimitrijevic are in the final stages of postproduction with Digging / Kopanje, a low-budget independent feature film based on the text by German playwright Christian Winkler. The film produced by MI Film will have its Macedonian release in Cinema Frosina in Skopje on 28 February 2018.

WARSAW: Agnieszka Holland will direct a drama about journalist Gareth Jones based on a script written by Andrea Serdaru-Barbul. The shoot is planned to launch in March 2018.

WARSAW: Polish company Watchout Studio launched the production of The Coldest Game, a spy thriller shot in English, directed by Łukasz Kośmicki.

ESTONIA: Eia's Christmas at Phantom Owl Farm, the last of the feature films that won the Estonia 100 film competition, is now in production. The second film by writer-director Anu Aun is set to screen during Christmas 2018.

PRAGUE: The shooting on Kasper Torsting’s period drama In War and Love / I Krig & Kærlighed (working title) took place on Czech locations from 4 to 11 February 2018. The crew will now move to Germany and Denmark.

TBILISI: The documentary director Rudolph Herzog will start shooting his debut feature in Georgia on 16 March 2018. How to Sell a War is coproduced by the Georgia's 20 Steps Productions.

WARSAW: My Name Is Sara, a Polish/American coproduction directed by Steven Oritt, wrapped shooting in the Podlasie region and is set to premiere by the end of 2018.
