CANNES: UK/Dublin based production house F&ME is building on its CEE partnerships, working on coproductions with Lithuania, Slovakia, Romania, Georgia and the Czech Republic.

This year the festival of Czech and Slovak cinema in Paris will commemorate the anniversary dates that constitute the history of Czechoslovakia, notably its creation in 1918 and the Prague Spring in 1968.

FNE has teamed up with FIPRESCI critics attending the Cannes Film Festival to rate the films in the Main Competition, Un Certain Regard, Directors' Fortnight and Critics Week, giving the films 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 stars. 5 is the best and 1 is the worst. The ratings give an overview of critics opinions from a large number of countries and provide insights to what critics in many different countries think about the programme.

In cooperation with the Slovenian Tourist Board, Ljubljana Tourism, and AIPA Institute (Collecting Society of Authors, Performers and Film Producers of Audiovisual Works of Slovenia), the Slovenian Film Centre is organising a promotional event that is to take place on 14 May at 11 in the morning. On this occasion, Slovenia as a film location – as well as the opportunities that the Slovenian film locations can provide to the film sector in combination with the 25-percent cash rebate measure – will be presented to the global film community.

LONDON: How to Sell a War, the fiction feature film debut of documentary director Rudolph Herzog, has completed shooting. It was filmed on location in in Georgia and Dublin. Production services in Georgia were supplied by Caucasian Film Service.
