MEDIAS, ROMANIA: The second edition of the Medias Central European Film Festival (www.meceff.ro), running 2-8 September 2012, will screen seven films from seven Central European countries in its official competition.

ROTTERDAM: Cinema City International (cinemacity.nl), Central Europe’s largest multiplex operator, reported a 5.5 percent decline in revenues and 4.9 percent decline in ticket sales in the first half of 2012 in year-on-year comparisons in its six month financial report.

WARSAW: Andrzej Jakimowski’s English language feature Imagine was picked up by Germany’s Beta Cinema (www.betacinema.com) prior to the film’s world premiere at the Toronto IFF.

The deadline for the Coproducing Documentaries in Europe seminar, taking place in Slovakia, has been extended until 31 August 2012.

PRAGUE: Petr Koliha, artistic director of the Zlin children’s film festival (www.zlinfest.cz), will take on the position of director of Czech TV’s (www.ceskatelevize.cz) new children and youth channel as of 1 September 2012.

TALLINN: The Baltic Event CoProduction Market (www.be.poff.ee) taking place 26-28 November 2012 during the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (2012.poff.ee) is accepting entries through 15 September.

BRATISLAVA: Ten Slovak feature films, one TV film, and five Slovak minority coproductions have received production grants from the Slovak Audiovisual Fund (www.avf.sk).

The 10th Worldfilm (www.worldfilm.ee) festival to be held 18 – 24 March 2013 in Tartu, Estonia, has opened its call for submissions.

The deadline for film submissions is 15 October. There is no entry fee.

WARSAW: The Toronto International Film Festival will present the world premieres of three Polish films: Baby Blues by Katarzyna Rosłaniec, Imagine by Andrzej Jakimowski, and the Polish coproduction Igor and the Cranes' Journey by Evgeny Ruman.
