Bulgarian Minority Coproduction The Shameless by Konstantin Bojanov in Official Selection of 77th Cannes Film Festival

PARIS: Konstantin Bojanov’s third feature The Shameless has been selected for the Un Certain Regard competition of the 77th Cannes Film Festival, which will be held from 14 to 25 May 2024.

This love story between two women, set in India, is a coproduction from Switzerland, France, Bulgaria and Taiwan. It was produced by Akka Films and coproduced by Urban Factory, Klas Films and House on Fire.

Another Bulgarian presence in the Official Competition is the actress Maria Bakalova, who plays Ivana Trump alongside the Romanian-born American actor Sebastian Stan (as Donald Trump) in Ali Abbasi’s The Apprentice. The film has been selected for the Competition and is a coproduction between Canada, USA, Denmark and Ireland.
