CANNES: The Minister of Culture of the Republic of Croatia Andrea Zlatar Violić, and Minister of Culture of the French Republic Aurélie Filippetti signed the Coproduction Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Croatia and the Government of the French Republic during Cannes.

The agreement will boost the already thriving Croatian audiovisual sector which has seen a string of Croatian box office hits take locally over the past year and now strong international sales the Croatian comedy Priest’s Children directed by Vinko Bresan and produced by Interfilm which was sold in Cannes to Italy, Spain, Sweden, Norway and a string of other countries in negotiations and likely to rack up additional sales. Wide Management is handling international sales.

The newly signed agreement will enable Croatian producers and filmmakers easier access to financial grants from foreign and French funds, film screenings in French cinemas, participation at French and international film festivals and greater presence on the international film market. Also, it will create basis for collaboration between Croatian and French filmmakers and producers on joint film projects.

Priest’s Children was backed by the Croatian Audiovisual Centre which has funded the string of domestic box office hits.
