FESTIVALS: 12th Cyprus IFF opens in Paphos

    NICOSIA: The 12th Cyprus International Film Festival Golden Aphrodite opened 14 June 2017 in the European Capital of Culture 2017 Paphos, where it will run through 24 June.

    The festival film screenings take place at two locations in Paphos and there will be parallel events, including a masterclass and a round table discussion. In addition, a short film, which was selected after a call for submissions, will be shot in the city and screened during the Golden Aphrodite award ceremony on 24 June 2017.

    The festival organises competitions in several categories: Golden Aphrodite – Feature Film Competition, CYIFF Got Talent in Short Film, CYIFF Veterans Shorts, CYIFF Experimental/ArtHouse, CYIFF Got Talent in Animation, CYIFF Doc Talent and Veteran’s Short Film Competition.

    The feature film competition jury is composed of Bill Butler, Director of photography (Jaws, Rocky II, Rocky III, Rocky IV, Grease), producer Vivek Singhania, actor Anthony Skordi, director Wang Jingguang and producer/writer George F Roberson.

    The festival is organised by the CINE@ART HQ & Programming Office under the auspices of the Municipality of Paphos.
