FESTIVALS: FF Riga Festival Launches in September

    RIGA: Latvia will host the first FF Riga international film festival 10-12 September 2012, an “homage” to the Arsenals film festival which was suspended as of March 2012 for lack of funding.

     

    The festival management announced that the new event is being supported by a group of supporting festivals, government agencies and individuals across Europe, which will cover all costs related to the screenings of films from their respective countries.

    The supporting festivals and their directors are: Christine Dollhofer – Crossing Europe Filmfestival (www.crossingeurope.at), Linz, Austria Sara Norberg – Helsinki International Film Festival (hiff.fi) Love and Anarchy, Finland Tiina Lokk – Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (www.poff.ee), Estonia Stefan Kitanov – Sofia International Film Festival (www.siff.bg), Bulgaria Stefan Laudyn – Warsaw Film Festival (www.wff.pl), Poland Stefan Uhrik – International Film Festival Prague FebioFest (www.febiofest.cz), Czech Republic Tudor Giurgiu – Transilvania International Film Festival (tiff.ro), Romania.
