VARNA: Yavor Petkov’s feature film debut Danny. Legend. God will screen in the main competition of the 38th Golden Rose National Film Festival (24 September - 1 October 2020). It is an independently financed crime thriller inspired by the 1992 cult Belgium black comedy Man Bites Dog, written, produced and directed by Rémy Belvaux, André Bonzel and Benoît Poelvoorde.

VARNA: Ivan Vladimirov’s feature film Scenes From the Life of an Actress will screen in the main competition of the 38th Golden Rose National Film Festival (24 September - 1 October 2020). This is his first film after Sneakers (Gala Film), which he co-directed in 2011 with actor/director Valeri Yordanov.

VARNA: Niki Iliev’s fourth feature film Reunion, produced by Silver Light Pictures, will screen in the main competition of the 38th Golden Rose National Film Festival (24 September - 1 October 2020). The romantic comedy is one of 2019’s domestic box office toppers.

VARNA: Bogomil Kalinov’s debut feature Ashes Over Sun, produced by Invictus, will screen in the main competition of the 38th Golden Rose National Film Festival (24 September - 1 October 2020). It is a personal interpretation of a complicated medical case that happened in real life.

VARNA: Dimitar Radev’s debut feature Dante’s Heaven, produced by PREMIERstudio, will screen in the main competition of the 38th Golden Rose National Film Festival (24 September - 1 October 2020).

VARNA: Katrin Gebbe’s German/Bulgarian coproduction Pelican Blood will screen in the main competition of the 38th Golden Rose National Film Festival (24 September - 1 October 2020). The coproduction between Germany’s Junafilm and Bulgaria’s Miramar, starring Nina Foss, opened the 2019 Venice IFF's parallel programme Orizzonti.

VARNA: Ivan Yurukov’s debut Till the Final Caprice will screen in the main competition of the 38th Golden Rose National Film Festival (24 September - 1 October 2020). It is an independent film produced over the course of five years.

VARNA: Georgi Kostov’s period film The Rest is Ashes will screen in the main competition of the 38th Golden Rose National Film Festival (24 September - 1 October 2020). The film is inspired by the life of Atanas Burov, a respected Bulgarian banker, philanthropist and politician.

VARNA: Ivan Tscherkelov’s feature film Do Not Argue With the Bath Staff (Nach-Zach Vision) will screen in the main competition of the 38th Golden Rose National Film Festival (24 September - 1 October 2020). It is the director’s seventh very personal film, once again dealing with existential themes.

VARNA: Konstantin Burov’s  second feature film Goodbye, Johnny (Doli Media Studio) will screen in the main competition of the 38th Golden Rose National Film Festival (24 September - 1 October 2020).
