Croatia Benefits from MEDIA Programme Membership

    ZAGREB: Croatian beneficiaries and audiovisual industry stakeholders have drawn 3.3 million Euro of non-returnable grants from 2008 to 2013. The MEDIA Sub-Programme gave 531,424 EUR to Croatian audiovisual projects in 2014.

    According to a press release published on the website of the Croatian Audiovisual Centre, the 3.3m EUR was used to support 17 Croatian films (517,742 EUR), five Croatian film festivals (575,310 EUR), the digitalisation of four Croatian cinemas plus co-financing of 11 cinemas within the Europa Cinemas network (427,264 EUR), continuous training (48,000 EUR), Croatian training scholarships (383,182 EUR) and automatic and selective support of European film in Croatia (1.348,502 EUR).

    In these five years, the production company Kinorama received grants in the slate funding category for four feature films and Studio Dim for three feature films, while the highest individual project development sum of 60,000 EUR went to Helena Bulaja for Mechanical Figures/Inspired by Tesla produced by Bulaja naklada.
