ZAGREB: Skam, the groundbreaking format from Norway's NRK, is getting a new adaptation in Croatia, titled Sram and produced by CGM Films for the Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT). The series is set to be broadcast on HRT1 starting in the fall of 2024.

Scriptwriters Hana Jušić and Nikica Zdunić have moved the story to Croatia, and Bruno Mustić and Ivan Lovreček are producing.

"In adapting the show for the Croatian demographic, we've included a character from the Roma community, underscoring our commitment to diversity. Beyond storytelling, we're embracing the digital age by showing how today's teens engage with content and each other online. This modern approach influences not only our narrative, but also our distribution across digital platforms and social media, with the goal of making every teen feel recognised and included", said producer Bruno Mustić in a statement.

Skam, which first aired in 2015, already has successful adaptations in France, Germany, the USA, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium and Italy.

Beta Film’s boutique label Kids & Family handles international sales and format rights.
