PRODUCTION: Fashion Tension Begins Filming in Hvar

    ZAGREB: The Croatian feature Fashion Tension is directed by Filip Šovagović and written by Ivica Đikić and Robert Perišić began shooting on the island of Hvar on 26 April 2011.

    The film, is a satire based of the biblical motif of Noah's Ark, begins on the warmest day of the summer, when an Italian fashion designer arrives on the Dalmatian island accompanied by his close friend and ‘muse' - a male model. The fashion duo plans to settle on the island, which causes a stir among the locals and a clash of the two worlds.

    Fashion Tension is the second feature (after Pušča Bistra from 2005) from actor, writer and director Šovagović, who starred in over 40 film and theatre roles and directed and wrote a series of theatre plays which have been translated and awarded around the world.

    The cast of Fashion Tension includes Bojan and Goran Navojec, Mijo Jurišić, Mišo Mihočević, Marija Škaričić, Nataša Janjić, Inge Appelt, Miran Kurspahić and Ranko Zidarić, while the former Croatian president Stjepan Mesić makes a cameo appearance.

    The film is produced by the company Zona Sova from Zagreb, and is co-funded by the Croatian Audiovisual Centre (www.havc.hr).
