PRODUCTION: The Eternal Road Goes into Production

    TALLINN: The Finnish/Swedish/Estonian coproduction The Eternal Road directed by Antti-Jussi Annila has begun filming in Estonia.

    The film is scheduled to shoot for six weeks. Krisian Taska of Estonia’s Taska Film is coproducing with Matila Rohr Productions of Finland and Person Anagram of Sweden producing. The budget is estimated at just under 2.4 m EUR.

    The film is based on a best-selling Finnish novel. The story is set in 1930 during the Stalinist era, when people were accused of being communists and exiled to the Soviet Union. Annila co-wrote the script with Aku Louhimies and the author of the novel, Antti Tuuri.

    The film is scheduled for a fall 2017 release.
