Damian wrote the script with Lia Bugnar, and she cast her son, Anghel Damian, as the leading actor of this coming-of-age story. Born into a family of filmmakers (his father, Laurenţiu Damian, is the president of Romanian Filmmakers Union) Anghel Damian made his feature debut in Vali Hotea’s Roxanne in 2013.
“The movie is inspired by the way my father died. A lot of the emotions I felt then are in the script, but the characters are fictionalized,”Anca Damian explained to FNE the autobiographical side of the film.
The cast includes Vlad Ivanov. Anca Damian is producing through Aparte Film in coproduction with Guillaume de Seille through the Paris-based company Arizona Films Distribution. Of the budget of 765,000 EUR, 480,974 EUR is already in place. The project received a production grant of 168,868 EUR/754,000 RON from the Romanian Film Center in April 2014, and it is also supported by Creative Europe - MEDIA with a development grant.
Shooting is planned to take place for 40 days in Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca in June 2015. The premiere is set for 2016.
